Cancellation of soft and collinear divergences in noncommutative QED

چکیده
In this paper, we investigate the behavior of non-commutative IR divergences and will also discuss their cancellation in the physical cross sections. The commutative IR (soft) divergences existing in the non-planar diagrams will be examined in order to prove an all order cancellation of these divergences using the Weinberg’s method. In noncommutative QED, collinear divergences due to triple photon splitting vertex, were encountered, which are shown to be canceled out by the non-commutative version of KLN theorem. This guarantees that there is no mixing between the Collinear, soft and non-commutative IR divergences. email: [email protected] email: [email protected]

Perturbative analysis on infrared aspects of noncommutative QED on R
Here we examine the noncommutative counterpart of QED, which is called as noncommutative QED. The theory is obtained by examining the consistent minimal coupling to noncommutative U(1) gauge field. The ∗-product admits the coupling of the matter with only three varieties of charges, i.e., 0, +1 and −1. Ultraviolet divergence can be absorbed into the rescaling of the fields and the parameters at...

To compare with experiment it is vital that theoretical predictions are finite. Beyond leading order in perturbation theory many processes contain infrared divergences. It is often argued that these singularities are eliminated at the level of the inclusive cross-section [1,2]. During this talk I will show that the infrared divergences are still poorly understood. I also expose some questionabl...

I advance arguments against the view that the Lee-Nauenberg-Kinoshita theorem is relevant in practice to the scattering of charged particles as their mass tends to zero. I also discuss the case of massive coloured particle scattering. Scattering cross-sections for reactions involving, in the initial state, a charged particle of mass m contain (in perturbation theory) ln m terms, which become la...
متن کاملPerturbative analysis on infrared and ultraviolet aspects of noncommutative QED on R
Here we discuss the ultraviolet and infrared aspects of the noncommutative counterpart of QED, which is called as noncommutative QED, as well as some infrared dynamics of noncommutative Yang-Mills (NCYM) theory. First we demonstrate that the divergence in the theory can be subtracted by the similar counterterms as in ordinary theory at one loop level. Then the anomalous magnetic moment is calcu...

whereHmn are numerical coefficients and we have introduced the shorthand L ≡ ln 1/v. The double logarithms are associated with non-cancellation between soft and collinear divergences in real and virtual graph, since limiting v suppresses real radiation but not the corresponding virtual terms. When v is small (ln v ∼ α s ) all terms αs L 2m become of the same magnitude (∼ 1) and reliable calcula...
